Speract is a 10-residue peptide found in egg jelly (EJ). It was originally isolated from sea urchin eggs. Speract stimulates the respiration, motility, and cyclic nucleotide metabolism of sea urchin spermatozoa. At low extracellular pHs, speract also potentiates the FSP-induced AR. |
