| Biological Activity | The EC50 value of Mouse MIP-2/CXCL2 on Ca2+ mobilization assay in CHO-K1/mCXCR2 (mouse CXCR2 stably expressed in CHO-K1 cells) is less than 200.0 ng/ml. | |
| Expression System | HEK 293 | |
| Apparent Molecular Weight | ~7.8 kDa, on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. | |
| Formulation | Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS. | |
| Reconstitution | It is recommended that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute the lyophilized powder in ddH₂O or PBS up to 100 μg/ml. | |
| Storage & Stability | Upon receiving, this product remains stable for 6 months at lower than -70°C. Upon reconstitution, the product should be stable for 1 week at 4°C or for 3 months at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended that a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) be added. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
| Target Background | Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 2 (CXCL2) is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family that is also referred to as macrophage inflammatory protein 2-alpha (MIP2-alpha), Growth-regulated protein beta (Gro-beta) and Gro oncogene-2 (Gro-2). CXCL2 is secreted by monocytes and macrophages and is chemotactic for polymorphonuclear leukocytes and hematopoietic stem cells. CXCL2’s amino acid sequence is 90% identical to the amino acid sequence of related chemokine, CXCL1. CXCL2 signals through the CXCR2 receptor. |
