Annexin V, His, Human

Synonyms ANX5, ENX2, ANXA5, Annexin A5, Annexin-5, Annexin V, Lipocortin V, Endonexin II, Calphobindin I, CBP-I
Description ANXA5, also known as annexin V, is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins which are involved in membrane-related activity along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. ANXA5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel properties. It functions in signal transduction, inflammation, cell growth and differentiation. ANXA5 is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. There are at least ten different annexins in the mammalian species. Annexins do not contain signal peptides, yet some annexins (A1, A2 and A5) appear to be secreted in a physiologically regulated fashion. The binding of labeled ANXA5 to phosphatidylserine is commonly used as a marker of apoptosis.
Recombinant Human Annexin V produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 320 amino acids. Human Annexin V has a molecular mass of 36.8 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE and is obtained by chromatographic techniques at GenScript.

Purity > 95% as analyzed by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS.
Reconstitution Reconstituted in sterile ddH2O or PBS at 100 μg/ml.
Endotoxin Level < 0.2 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.
Storage Lyophilized recombinant Human Annexin V/ANXA5 remains stable up to 6 months at lower than -70°C from date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, Human Annexin V should be stable up to 1 week at 4°C or up to 3 months at -20°Cunder sterile conditions. For long term storage it is recommended that a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) be added. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
