What inspired you to pursue a career in biotech?
Marketing has been my craft, passion, and playground for over 25 years. I have always been drawn to the art of storytelling, the science of human behavior, and the power of influence to create meaningful connections between brands and people. GenScript, with its purpose, its science, and its unwavering commitment to transforming human and nature health, was an absolute calling. I knew this was the moment to bring my over a quarter century experience, insights, and leadership to a space that has real, tangible impact. So joining this incredible organization was not just a career move—it was a lifelong pursuit. I was presented a tremendous opportunity to transform marketing to be a catalyst for growth in an industry that has yet to fully leverage its power. AI-powered marketing, hyper-personalization, and data-driven decision-making are revolutionizing how we understand and engage customers. In an industry where complexity is often a barrier, marketing can demystify science, create meaningful connections, and accelerate the adoption of life sciences solutions. The opportunity to re-shape marketing in this field, to elevate our impact, and to craft strategies that matter and instigate growth is what drives me each and every day.
What has been the most rewarding part of your journey at GenScript?
Without a doubt—the amazing people.
From the moment I stepped into GenScript, I was met with an incredible spirit of openness, collaboration, and a shared hunger for growth. The willingness to challenge the status quo, explore new frontiers, and evolve together has been super inspiring. This is a company that truly embraces transformation, and it's rare to find such an environment where people are both deeply rooted in science and deeply open to new ways of thinking.
Beyond that, our beloved marketing team has been a defining highlight. Over 80% of our marketing team consists of incredibly talented, high-achieving women. As leaders, strategists, creators, and innovators, they embody the very essence of what makes women in leadership so extraordinary—emotional intelligence, adaptability, strategic thinking, and an innate ability to drive impact.
At GenScript, I've seen firsthand how diversity fuels innovation, and as a female leader, I am deeply committed to cultivating a culture where mentorship thrives, bold ideas are embraced, and the unique strengths of women are celebrated. When we support, challenge, and elevate one another, we create more than just opportunities—we build a foundation for belonging, fearless innovation, and transformative growth that transcends genders, industry stereotypes, and expectations.
From your perspective, what role does marketing play in driving diversity, inclusion, and leadership opportunities for women in biotech?
Marketing is more than campaigns, content or storytelling—it's a force for change. It has the power to shape perceptions, amplify voices, and challenge stereotypes.
In life sciences, where diversity is essential for innovation, marketing plays a pivotal role in ensuring that, story-telling becomes story-doing, diverse contributions are not just recognized, but celebrated, elevated, and embedded in industry's narrative. It's about creating a seat at the table, making space for women to be seen, heard, and valued—not just as contributors, but as leaders, pioneers, and decision-makers.
As a female global marketing executive, I live by this passion every day. At GenScript, more than 80% of our marketing team is made up of exceptional female professionals—visionary, strategic, and impact-driven. Marketing has the unique ability to elevate these voices, showcase role models, and inspire the next generation of women leaders. It ensures that leadership is not defined by gender, but by capability, growth mindset and the courage to shape new narratives.
When done right, marketing doesn't just tell stories—it redefines perspectives. It creates culture, fosters belonging, and accelerates authentic inclusion and equity by ensuring that women's leadership is not the exception, but the norm. Just like the impact we are driving with our marketing transformation—one that will not only transform our industry today but redefine its future.
As my final words, I'd like to leave you with my favorite author Brené Brown's famous quote, "Courage starts with showing up." I am incredibly proud to show up for this team, this company, and this industry—to help drive change, create opportunity, and build a future where more women step into leadership, own their brilliance, and change the world.

What has been the most rewarding part of your journey with GenScript?
When I joined the HR team in the Piscataway office, I was immediately energized by the strong sense of drive and eagerness to learn and succeed every day. As an HR team, we accomplished many projects and improvements within a few months that had been previously unimplemented, including an employee recognition platform, a cultural awareness program, new hire onsite orientation, and more.
The positive feedback, smiles, and active participation in these initiatives have been incredibly rewarding. Hearing words like "Refreshing," "New," "Different," and "Fun" from employees is a constant reminder of the impact we're making, keeping us motivated and moving forward each day.
What advice would you give to women looking to enter into a corporate role?
Any advice you have for those who are looking to enter into a corporate role.
I always encourage exploring opportunities in any area, especially if you have clear career goals and direction. I recommend seeking out internships or career shadowing experiences, as these provide real-world exposure and help you determine if a profession is right for you. This can guide your career path more quickly and effectively.
From an HR perspective, using platforms like LinkedIn or other social media to showcase your experiences, skills, and learnings is valuable. It also helps you stay informed about market trends and discover opportunities that can support your next career steps.
What inspired you to pursue a career in biotech?
I've always been curious about science in general and in particular how discoveries help change people's lives for the better. I realized I could contribute to this overarching goal by pursuing a career as a scientist, and later on by joining GenScript and helping support the cutting-edge discoveries our customers make. From novel therapies (for humans AND animals!), to agricultural research, new textiles and biofuels and many, many more applications, we support it all and it is really very exciting to contribute to that.
What has been the most rewarding part of your journey with GenScript?
I am constantly inspired by and in awe of researchers we support at GenScript and the meaningful impact they have on technologies that improve lives and our environment, which lines up with our mission to make people and nature healthy.
What's one innovation in biotech that excites you the most?
As someone who spends a lot of time thinking about nucleic acids, and particularly chemically synthesized DNA/RNA, I am very excited of the boundaries being broken in terms of novel NA modalities; longer, more challenging sequences that are being successfully developed for editing, and the use of new modifications that can have significant impact in stability, editing efficiency and viability. Our RnD team is constantly pushing those boundaries and listening to the urgent needs our customers have in the GCT space (from RUO to GMP!), which we are very proud of!
What inspired you to pursue a career in biotech?
I was inspired to pursue a career in biotech because of its incredible potential for growth and impact. In recent decades, biotech has been at the forefront of scientific innovation, revolutionizing healthcare by developing new drugs and finding cures for previously incurable diseases. Breakthroughs in gene editing, immunotherapy, and personalized medicine are not only transforming patient treatment but also creating new markets and opportunities. I saw the chance to be part of an industry that truly makes a difference in people's lives and contributes to the greater good.
Throughout my career, I've worked in various industries, including textiles, photoelectric, and photovoltaic. When I discovered biotech—a field that blends biology with technology, engineering, and medicine—I was immediately drawn to it. The opportunity to contribute to life-saving therapies and groundbreaking innovations was something I couldn't pass up.
What has been the most rewarding part of your journey with GenScript?
What I find most rewarding is being part of the process of building and nurturing GenScript's unique company culture. We strive to create an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative environment. When I see new employees quickly adapt to and embrace this culture, and when teams work together seamlessly towards our common goals, it gives me a great sense of accomplishment. It's like watching a big family grow and thrive, where everyone supports and encourages one another.
The most rewarding part of my journey with GenScript has been witnessing the growth and development of our employees. We have a diverse and talented workforce, and seeing individuals progress in their careers, acquire new skills, and reach their full potential has been truly fulfilling. For example, we have many entry- level employees who have joined our training programs and over time, have become key contributors in important projects. Their transformation not only benefits them personally but also strengthens the entire organization.
