pLenti-VSVG encodes the vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein (VSVG), which serves as the envelope protein for pseudotyping lentiviral particles. VSVG enhances viral stability and broadens tropism, allowing lentiviral vectors to transduce a wide range of cell types. This makes it an ideal choice for gene delivery in various research and therapeutic applications. It is used together with pLenti-MDLgpRRE (LP1) to provide Gag-Pol structural proteins and pLenti-Rev (LP2) for efficient RNA processing, ensuring successful lentiviral vector packaging.
