What Are Rapid Tests?

Rapid tests are an easy-to-use test method that many are familiar with; the home pregnancy test is an example. These types of tests utilize a nitrocellulose membrane impregnated with a nanoparticle colored label and a capture mechanism to visualize a target analyte. The sample is applied at one end and flows across the membrane. Control particles bind to the Control (C) line making the test valid. If the target analyte, for example SARS-CoV-2 virus, is present then, a colored line will form at the Test (T) line.

We all want to safely go back to work, send kids off to school, and be able to travel to see family and friends but the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus has created some obstacles. And with the ongoing cases of infections, more tools are needed. GenScript’s rapid tests provide the answer you need in 15 minutes or less . Whether testing is for active infection at the onset of symptoms or verification of an immune response post-infection or vaccination, GenScript rapid tests offer a solution.
