TurboCHO™ Protein Expression Kit: A New Standard for Rapid,
Consistent, and High‑Yield CHO Expression
TurboCHO™ Protein Expression Kit enables rapid and consistent transient protein
expression in CHO cells by integrating speed, productivity, and reproducibility into a single
optimized system. Built on an engineered CHO‑K1 platform, TurboCHO™ achieves high protein titers
within 3–7 days post‑transfection, significantly reducing turnaround time compared with
conventional transient CHO methods. Designed to align with standard CHO workflows, the system
supports straightforward adoption while enabling faster candidate screening and more confident
early‑stage biologics decision‑making.
Hanying Luo, Ph.D. is Director of Protein & Antibody Solutions at GenScript, where she leads
product strategy and development for protein expression and antibody discovery platforms
supporting biologics research and drug discovery. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science
and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. With over eight years of experience in product
management in the life sciences & Biotech industry, Dr. Luo has worked across a broad range of
technologies, including chemicals, molecular biology tools, gene products, and protein
expression systems. Her work focuses on developing integrated solutions that accelerate protein
production and enable high-throughput biologics discovery workflows.

A Next-Generation Transient CHO Expression Platform
Accelerating Antibody Discovery
Fast experimental iteration remains a key limitation in antibody discovery,
especially as AI-driven and high-throughput approaches generate large candidate panels.
Conventional transient CHO expression (7–10 days) can slow evaluation, particularly for complex
formats. We developed an engineered CHO-K1 platform powering TurboCHO™ 3.0, delivering improved
transfection efficiency and productivity with titers up to 5 g/L. The system supports diverse
antibody formats, including bispecifics and multispecifics, with purity suitable for downstream
assays, enabling faster and higher-throughput screening. To extend these benefits in-house, the
TurboCHO™ Protein Expression Kit leverages the same platform to shorten expression timelines by
~3–7 days versus conventional CHO workflows while maintaining strong yields. Together, the
TurboCHO platform enables faster protein access and more efficient decision-making across
antibody discovery workflows.

Improving Scalable, High-Throughput Affinity Protein
Purification Workflows with Magnetic Beads-Based Automated Solutions
Conventional gravity-column protein typically requires extensive manual efforts and
prolonged processing times that introduces run-to-run variability, particularly when purifying
multiple samples. Advances in magnetic beads technology have since simplified and expedited the
purification workflow by eliminating the need for sample clarification and offering strong
compatibility with high-throughput platforms. This work presents the use of automated magnetic
bead-based platforms to perform mini and midi-scale purification of His-tagged proteins
featuring integrated cell lysis and high reproducibility.
Guillermo Fernandez Rodriguez, Ph.D., is a Biotechnologist and Field Application Scientist at
GenScript with expertise in Genetics and Molecular Biology. He supports R&D labs in
implementing automated robotic platforms for plasmid and protein purification. With a
background in molecular oncology and drug discovery, he focuses on applying scientific rigor
to translational and preclinical research challenges in therapeutic development.
