Rapid assembly of gene variant libraries to engineer proteins for user defined goals

Mutant libraries can be used to optimize protein function, such as enhancing expression levels, protein stability and activity, antibody affinity maturation and removal of hot spot degradation. Traditional methods for creating these libraries suffer from limited control over the codons introduced and variants can incur significant codon bias and early termination. The result is a large library with poor representation of variants causing a significant screening effort on the part of the researcher to ensure they are capturing the entire variation of the library. In this webinar, we will discuss a novel method for creating mutant libraries using a semiconductor-based oligonucleotide synthesis platform.

Project Manager, GenScript

Charlie Zou received his B.S. degree in Biotechnology at Nanjing Normal University, M.S. degree in Biology at St Mary’s University and completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology at Saskatchewan University. He is currently a project manager in the R&D department at GenScript. His previous research focused on studying the Neisseria gonorrhoeae cell division interactome and rhizobacteria of legume crops and mechanisms of rotation benefit which resulted in numerous publications.
