See arcuatus.
A cell group in the Hypothalamus, located in the lowest part of the infundibulum adjacent to the median eminence; it is involved in neuroendocrine control through the release of releasing hormones and inhibitory hormones. Also known as: arcuate nucleus
postrema = Latin for 'back end area'. This is a large collection of very small 5-HT neurons that lie ventral to the fourth ventricle and are associated with the parabrachial area. The neurons are considered immature and have a bipolar or simple oval shape.
Arginine is a positively charged amino acid
a colorless and odorless inert gas; one of the six inert gases; comprises approximately 1% of the earth's atmosphere
See axilla.
Individual primary recombinant clones (hosted in phage, cosmid, YAC, or other vector ) that are placed in two-dimensional arrays in microtiter dishes. Each primary clone can be identified by the identity of the plate and the clone location (row and column) on that plate. Arrayed libraries of clones can be used for many applications, including screening for a specific gene or genomic region of interest as well as for physical MAPping . Information gathered on individual clones from physical MAP analyses is entered into a relational database and used to construct physical and genetic linkage MAPs simultaneously; clone identifiers serve to interrelate the multilevel MAPs. Cf. library, genomic library.
protein that binds to agonist-activated GRK-phosphorylated receptors Preferentially bind agonist-activated GRK-phosphorylated receptors as opposed to either 2nd messenger dependent kinase-phosphorylated or non-phosphorylated receptor Types: visual arrestin, b2 – arrestin
a substance which ionizes in aqueous solution to yield hydrogen ions (H+)
A form of pedigree depicting schematically the flow of genes from ancestors to descendants.
