Abstract

Kainate receptors (KARs) belong to the ionotropic glutamate receptor (iGluR) family and play critical roles in mediating excitatory neurotransmission and regulating neurotransmitter release. Receptor desensitization is a critical factor for regulating the strength of synaptic transmission.
