L1A (IDGLKAIWKKVADLLKNT-NH2) is a peptide that displays a selective antibacterial activity to Gram-negative bacteria without being hemolytic. Its lytic activity in anionic lipid vesicles was strongly enhanced when its N-terminus was acetylated (ac-L1A).
