Substitutive therapy is a type of medical treatment that involves replacing a missing or deficient substance in the body with a synthetic or natural equivalent. This approach is commonly used to treat genetic disorders and other conditions caused by a deficiency of a particular substance in the body. One example of substitutive therapy is enzyme replacement therapy (ERT). ERT is used to treat genetic disorders that result in the deficiency or absence of an enzyme in the body. In ERT, the missing enzyme is replaced with a synthetic version that can be administered to the patient either intravenously or subcutaneously. Another example of substitutive therapy is hormone replacement therapy (HRT). HRT is commonly used to treat menopausal symptoms in women. It involves administering synthetic or natural hormones to replace the declining levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body. Substitutive therapy can also be used to treat certain types of cancer. For example, hormone therapy is used to treat certain types of breast and prostate cancer. In this approach, the hormones that promote the growth of cancer cells are blocked, thereby slowing down the progression of the disease. In summary, substitutive therapy is a medical treatment approach that involves replacing a missing or deficient substance in the body with a synthetic or natural equivalent. This approach is commonly used to treat genetic disorders, hormonal imbalances, and certain types of cancer.
GenSmart Optimization is a free online tool for performing codon optimization to improve gene expression. GenScript's patented algorithms are integrated into the tool to optimize the computing capability of high-performance sequence generation.
GenSmart™ Design is a free online DNA construct design tool developed by GenScript. GenSmart™ Design has two design modules, the Create Construct module for individual plasmid design and the Create Library module for DNA library design.
