GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Generated mice with genetic knockout (KO) of the G protein-coupled receptor kinase (GRK) 5 gene by microinjection of TALEN mRNA. TALEN vectors were designed to target exons 1, 3, and 5 of the mouse GRK5 gene.
Title: GRK5-Knockout Mice Generated by TALEN-Mediated Gene Targeting.
Overall, these data suggest that GRK5 negatively regulates CXCL1/KC levels during bacterial pneumonia but that the role of GRK5 in the clinical outcome in this model is dependent on the bacterial dose.
Title: Bacterial Dose-Dependent Role of G Protein-Coupled Receptor Kinase 5 in Escherichia coli-Induced Pneumonia.
These results of this study suggest that GRK5 deficiency indeed makes the mice more susceptible to wide range of behavioral impairments, including cognitive impairments.
Title: GRK5 deficiency leads to susceptibility to intermittent hypoxia-induced cognitive impairment.
GRK5, acting in a kinase independent manner, is a facilitator of NFAT activity and part of a DNA-binding complex responsible for pathological hypertrophic gene transcription.
Title: GRK5-mediated exacerbation of pathological cardiac hypertrophy involves facilitation of nuclear NFAT activity.
MOR phosphorylation is regulated by agonist-selective recruitment of distinct GRK isoforms that influence different opioid-related behaviors. Modulation of GRK5 function could serve as a new approach for preventing addiction to opioids.
Title: Loss of morphine reward and dependence in mice lacking G protein-coupled receptor kinase 5.
The following Grk5 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the Grk5 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
