Il13ra1 cDNA ORF clone, Mus musculus(house mouse)
Gene Symbol | Il13ra1 |
Entrez Gene ID | 16164 |
Full Name | interleukin 13 receptor, alpha 1 |
Synonyms | AI882074,CD213a1,IL-13R-alpha-1,IL-13r[a],Il13ra,NR4 |
General protein information |
|
Gene Type | protein-coding |
Organism | Mus musculus(house mouse) |
Genome | |
Summary | This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that complexes with interleukin 4 receptor alpha (IL4RA) to form a functional receptor for interleukin-13. Signalling through this pathway mediates allergy response and occurs during bronchial asthma. [provided by RefSeq, May 2015]. |

GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Delivery of sIL13ralpha1 to mice by either gene transfer or recombinant protein decreases blood glucose levels. Surprisingly, the glucose-lowering effect of sIL13ralpha1 was preserved in mice lacking IL-13, demonstrating that IL-13 was not required for the effect. In contrast, deletion of IL-4 in mice eliminated the hypoglycemic effect of sIL13ralpha1.
