Immunohistochemistry (IHC) includes the process of selectively imaging antigens in cells of a tissue section under the principle of antibodies binding specifically to antigens. It is an excellent detection technique and has numerous advantage of being able to show exactly where a specific protein is located within the tissue examined. The technique is widely used in diagnostic surgical pathology for immunophenotyping tumors.
