GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Results showed expression of myoblast differentiation marker genes were increased by interference and reduced by ANKRD23 overexpression, indicating that ANKRD23 played a negative role in the myoblast differentiation; discovered a long non-coding RNA-AK004293 which was overlapped with the 3'UTR of ANKRD23 gene. Thus, AK004293 had no significant effect on the expression of myoblast differentiation maker genes and ANKRD23.

DARP regulates glucose disposal in skeletal muscle and thus modifies the glucose homeostasis by modulating AMPK activity.
Title: Diabetes-Related Ankyrin Repeat Protein (DARP/Ankrd23) Modifies Glucose Homeostasis by Modulating AMPK Activity in Skeletal Muscle.
CARP, Ankrd2, and DARP are not essential for normal cardiac development and function at basal conditions and in response to mechanical pressure overload.

Dapr is involved in the PI3K signaling cascade, potentially acting as a scaffold protein for PKB and coordinating its compartmentalization during differentiation.

DARP plays important structural and gene regulatory roles in skeletal muscle.
